SpaceX Launches 28 New Starlink Satellites into Space
On a recent mission, the American space exploration technology company SpaceX successfully launched 28 new Starlink satellites into space. The Falcon 9 rocket took off from the Cape Canaveral Space Launch Complex in Florida, carrying the satellites into a low Earth orbit.
The first stage of the rocket returned to Earth as planned after approximately 8.5 minutes, landing on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean. The upper stage of the Falcon 9 rocket continued to deploy the Starlink satellites into a low Earth orbit (LEO), scheduled for release about 64 minutes after liftoff.
This launch and landing marked the eighth successful mission for the specific booster, named “B1090,” for SpaceX’s orbital rocket. Today’s launch was the 126th flight of the Falcon 9 rocket in 2025.
Currently, there are over 8,370 active Starlink satellites in orbit. Starlink is a satellite internet service provided by SpaceX, aiming to deliver high-speed internet to users worldwide through a network of thousands of small satellites in low Earth orbit.
